Circular from Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Educational Board, Pune – 14

Dated 12 th July 2017

Summary of General Instructions:

  • There is no change in syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Statistics
  • In Physics, Chemistry and Biology, there will be a written exam of 70 Marks and a practical exam of 30 Marks.
  • In Physics, Chemistry and Biology, in written exam, there will be one question paper and one answer paper.
  • In Mathematics and Statistics, there will be a written exam of 80 Marks and a practical exam of 20 Marks.
  • In Mathematics and Statistics, in written exam, there will be one question paper and one answer paper.
  • The final exam in all subject will be on the complete syllabus.
  • The paper duration will be of 3 hours.

Standard XI and XII PHYSICS

Question Paper Pattern from  Written Examination

General Instructions:

  • All the questions are compulsory
  • Section A contains Q. No. 1 to 4 of multiple choice type of questions carrying one mark each. Qno. 5 to QnO. 8 are very short answer type of questions carrying one mark each.
  • Section B contains Q. No. 9 to 15 of short answer type questions carrying two marks each Internal choice is provided to only one question.
  • Section C contains QNo.16 to 26 of short answer type of questions carrying three marks each. An internal choice is provided to only one question.
  • Section D contains Q. No. 27 to 29 of long answer type of questions carrying five marks each. An internal choice is provided to each question.
  • Use Log Tables if Necessary. Use of calculator is not allowed.

Section A:

  • Q. No.1 to 8 (Q No. 1 to 4 (MCQ) and Q. N. 5 to 8 (VSA) 1 Mark each

Section B:

  • Q. No. 9 to 15 (Option to any one question from Q. No. 9 to Q. No.15) Short Answers (SA – I) 2 Marks Each

Section C:

  • Q. No. 16 to 25 (Option to any one question from Q. No. 16 to Q. No.26) (SA- II) 3 Marks each

Section D

  • Q. No. 27 to Q. No. 29
  • Q. No. 27 Or Q. No. 27
  • Q. No. 28 or Q. No. 28
  • Q. No. 29 or Q. No.  29

      Till now there is no such indication by Maharashtra State Board. But this year they have changed textbooks of SSC. It means they are going to change the textbooks and the syllabus from 2019-20 academic year. We will be updating our site as per the new syllabus of CBSE, ISC and state board accordingly.

    And going to give my hsc exam in 2019 march.
    So I want to confirm, if there is any change in syllabus of 12th.
    So and my academic year will be 18-19

      For the academic year 2018-19 there is no change in syllabus, but the paper pattern is changed. It is more descriptive now. Board has mentioned that they will be providing question bank of each subject around November 2018.

      • Sir, please advise if 2019 HSC exam will on class XII syllabus only or, class XI & class XII.

          For Maharashtra State Board it is class XII syllabus only. But still, confirm with your teachers.

    Will it be easy or harder one bcoz we are the first batch to give this type of question paper ??

      Now writing skills are important. Importance is being given to subjective questions. Practice the question by writing the answers. so that the speed of writing also increased.
